Easy Silence by Beth Rinyu

I wasn't expecting much from this book, but after the first few chapters, I fell in love with Sam and Jax. This was so heart wrenching. This was a story about true love and soulmates.

When people look at Sam and Jax, they don't see any similarities. But when you look deep inside them, they're so alike. Both are in difficult family situations, and both have the sweetest soul.

Sam was kind of off putting for me in the beginning because she was so direct, blunt, and honest. She put out everything on the line for a boy. But it worked. She needed to be that way for Jax to understand love.

Jax was an unknown hero. Everyone in town judged him by who his parents were. But he had a heart of gold. He also believed that quality was more important than quantity in life.

"He was unlike any other guy I had ever been attracted to, but underneath his tough exterior, I saw a sad little boy, a scared young man, and a lost soul, not knowing which direction to take his heart."

This is a must read! I cried like a baby towards the end. And this is definitely something I'll re-read again.

Retribution by Natasha Knight

The cover alone makes me want to drool.

Uncontrollable salivation.

Like many stories by Natasha Knight, Retribution isn't for readers wanting a fluffy romance story. It's dark, abusive, and dirty. There's some bondage, spanking, and harsh whipping.

In the beginning, I was a bit indifferent of Elle. She was a pampered girl that really didn't pay attention to her surroundings. But she really grew on me and I loved her relationship with Adam.

Adam's plan for revenge on Elle's father involved hurting Elle. He locked her up and had his ways with her. Although Elle experienced pain, she saw the real Adam. A man grieving. Not a sadistic monster.

These scenes are intense and capable of generating accelerated heartbeats. I can't wait to read more from Natasha Knight.

Blind: Killer Instincts by Sidney Bristol

A perfect mix of mystery, romance, and suspense.

Emma's grandparents were murdered by a serial killer known as TBK. He tortured, blinded, then killed. TBK destroyed her family, but Emma didn't let the past break her.

Years after the murders, Detective Payton received a letter that was similar to TBK's style. He arranged a meeting with Emma so that he could learn more about TBK. The attraction between them was inevitable. Although they looked incompatible on the outside, they were cut from the same cloth. TBK had also affected Payton's life because his father was the one that caught TBK.

So are these letters from TBK? Did the wrong person get caught years ago? Or is this a copycat?

This wasn't what I was expecting. Blind got my blood pumping, and I can't wait to read more from Sidney Bristol.

Hanover House (The Evelyn Talbot Chronicles 0.5) by Brenda Novak

What a way to start off a series! This story explains why Evelyn Talbot does what she does. The reasons why she risks her life to study murderers, rapists, and con-artists.

Hanover House is in the the process of being built in a small town in Alaska. Not everyone is happy, but it'll create a lot of jobs. Alaskan State Trooper, Sergeant Amarok, is one of the citizens that isn't supportive. But he's happy that it'll be the reason why Evelyn moves to Alaska.

Although Evelyn is traumatized by her past, the past won't let her go. Hanover House is full of suspense, and it will keep you at the edge of your seat. There isn't much physical romance in the book, but the chemistry between Amarok and Evelyn is strong. I'm guessing that they'll get really close in the next book.

This was an amazing prequel, and I look forward to reading Her Darkest Nightmare.

Up in the Air Series by R.K. Lilley

The Up in the Air series would go in my category of 'what to read after Fifty Shades of Grey.' The characters are easy to get attached to, and the story is smoking hot! There's also some BDSM. So if you miss Christian Grey, this is a great series to read.

Ruthless People Series by J.J. McAvoy

21839603 22237428 22237681

Well, that was fun! Hello Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

"Rule One: You kill for family. You die for family. Because you can't trust anyone else."
"Rule Two: Take no prisoners and have no regrets about it."

"God created her and then shattered the mold afterward, for the world could not handle two of her."

The characters in the book are a bit over the top, but it's definitely fun and exciting. I loved every moment of it. The POV switches between different characters, but we mostly see it in Mel and Liam's. They are truly one of a kind bad-asses. Ruthless and violent to the core. This is also a very hot and steamy read.

Epilogue (The Dark Duet #3) by C.J. Roberts

Remember how I said this series isn't for everyone? Well, if you liked the first two books, you have to read book #3. It's a lot lighter compared to the previous stories, but it's the perfect conclusion.

Caleb is adjusting to his 'retired' life, and the lovers are trying to live like a normal couple... whatever that is. This is completely in Caleb's POV. You won't regret reading this.

The Dark Duet Series by C.J. Roberts

This series is not for everybody. It involves rape, abuse, and human trafficking. It's also extremely erotic. Just because you enjoyed Fifty Shades, does not mean you'll be able to handle this.

Readers out there.... I've warned you. My advice is that you look at the honest reviews on Goodreads to get a sense on how others feel about this series. I personally loved it, but that is my opinion.
